You can book online, over the telephone or in person. The online system will list which vehicles are available for the dates you need and we will either call you or email a confirmation.

A week or so is usually enough notice, although the size of our fleet normally means that we will have something available immediately. We would recommend booking as soon as you're certain of your dates and bear in mind that the most people move house on the last weekend in any month, so vans are always busy at that time!

We appreciate that your dates and circumstances might change, especially when moving house, so we do let you change your booking without penalty, although this is of course subject to other vehicles or dates being available.

The prices we quote over the phone and on the website include your hire, fully comprehensive insurance cover, unlimited mileage, roadside breakdown cover, collision damage waiver and VAT. For corporate customers, we would normally quote ex-vat and give you the opportunity to provide your own insurance cover.

No. All our short term rentals are based on unlimited mileage, which means there is no extra charge irrespective of how far you travel.

Your price is based on one driver. Provided they meet with our insurance requirements and we see their licence & DVLA check code, you can add extra drivers at a one-off charge of £10.00 + vat each.

All our vans and commercial vehicles are available on an hourly basis. Hourly hires can only be taken during office hours and cannot be booked in advance. Vans and minibuses are also available for evening hires (5.00pm - 8.00am), but the minimum hire period for cars is 1 day.

We can hire a vehicle for any length of time, either on a flexible, open-ended basis or on a fixed, full maintenance contract hire over a number of years. If you need a vehicle for more than a month, please contact us for a quote.

Our office is open between 8.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Saturday. If you can't get to us during these times there are a few ways we can help, just talk to us about finding the best solution. If you have an urgent need to hire a vehicle when we are closed, just phone us as normal and select the option to be put through to our out of hours contact number.

Normally our hires run from 8am or 5pm, for 24 hours. You can't collect any earlier than 8.00am, but (subject to availability) you can collect the night before if you need an early start. If you are booked to pick up at 5.00pm and your vehicle is ready sooner, you are welcome to collect it earlier at no extra charge; just call us earlier in the afternoon to check availability.

If your booking calls for an evening return, you should be back by 5.00pm, if you are to return in the morning we would ask you to be back at 8.00am. We will always try to be flexible if bookings permit, so it is always worth checking when you collect the vehicle whether we can give you a bit of leeway.

As well as laying down minimum standards of service, the BVRLA also monitors the quality of members’ vehicles, maintenance and customer service, so you can be confident that we are a reliable and trustworthy organisation.
